Discover the primitive and magical glaze firing process of Raku in this exciting outdoor workshop. This session is perfect for complete beginners, as no previous experience is needed to take part.
You will be provided with bisque-fired pots, ready for you to glaze. Then, the real drama begins! Your teacher will guide you through the firing, where you'll see the red-hot pots carefully transferred from the kiln into reduction buckets.
This is where the unique transformation happens. The pots are smoked, and as the oxygen is consumed, the glazes develop their characteristic and beautifully unpredictable crackles and lustres. It's a dynamic and exciting process to watch.
You'll finish this unique session with a wonderful connection to an ancient craft, ready to take home your own stunning, smoky and iridescent Raku-fired pieces.

- These workshops take place outside, so please come prepared for the weather.
- We cannot run the workshops in extreme weather conditions – such as strong wind or driving rain. In this case, we occasionally have to cancel the firing and will offer a refund or rebooking.
