This is a fun activity in Manchester

'Intro to Pottery' is our monthly, BYOB pottery workshop, where you can try both core skills of working with clay - wheel throwing & hand-building. We'll also show you around the studio and explain a little about the ins and outs of making pottery, with snacks and a glass of prosecco on arrival all included in your booking price! You are welcome to BYOB if you'd like something more.

In our large, open studio you can expect a social and fun atmosphere. There will be a maximum of 10 guests at the workshop, and we'll split you into two groups to try each activity. You'll have a teacher dedicated to guiding your group through each activity, so don't worry if you've never touched clay before, plenty of assistance is available.

At the end of the class, you'll be able to choose your 2 favourite pieces to be glazed and fired. You'll need to come back and pick these up 3-4 weeks after the class finishes. If you don't live in Manchester, we can arrange postage for an additional fee on the day.

Loved this class so much! It was a great session and the teachers were fantastic, very patient and explained everything so well. Was well worth the price and will recommend to everyone. The selection of treats were amazing too. Small class size was great too.

I received my gift card as a Christmas present from my family who assured me I would enjoy it even though I am 75 and have never worked with clay before. Happy to say they were absolutely correct! The three hour session consisted of two parts the first for me was the Wheale which was a dream come true and I did manage to have one complete dish at the end of that session. I then moved onto hand clay work which I found was more my thing and I made a jug and a soap dish in the time. I was amazed and everyone I think they were about 12 of us altogether, two groups of six, had a truly wonderful evening. Georgie and her co-teacher were so helpful and friendly and it felt like a social evening. There were snacks and drinks and the atmosphere was lovely with good music and it was clean in fact the studio well I just felt I was an artist for an evening, which was great. I have three pieces being fired and glazed to the colours I requested there was a choice and I really am looking forward to returning to collect these and to see Georgie again and to thank her once more and her coworker whose name I’m annoyed with myself I can’t remember but she was just as lovely they were both just great.
