This is a fun activity in Bristol

***Additional Summer Holiday dates added :) ***

Families, groups of friends or solo creators of all abilities can book onto our self-led pottery hand-building sessions at Terra Cafe in Stokes Croft. Some examples of what you can make include a plant pot, bowl, mug, salt pig, monster pot or even a dazzling butter dish. You'll also be able to paint (under glaze) your piece.

If you’d like a crafty and creative escape this is the perfect session for you.

We tailor what different age groups do within the session so everyone can enjoy the experience together.

Under 5s have a 'play with clay' experience. For this session each child will have a ball of air drying clay, with a multitude of finger friendly tools, stamps, shape cutters and rollers to tuck into and get messy with. They will be given an array of paints, sponges and brushes to decorate their creations. Our fabulous pottery host will set your child up with everything they need, and be on hand to give creative ideas and to help them along their clay exploration.

Ages 6-10
This is the perfect self led session for 6 - 10 year olds to create a ceramic masterpiece! With the help of our brilliantly illustrated guide, your child can follow along and create either a monster pot, animal pot or a lovely decorated bowl. Our pottery host will be on hand to settle your child in, help them select their 3 underglaze colours and provide them with an array of tools, stamps and shape cutters. We also have a splatter station, so your child can get expressive with a Jackson Pollock inspired piece if they would like to.

Ages 11 + and adults
For this age group we have slightly more challenging pieces you can make. These include a plant pot, bowl, mug, salt pig, oil burner or even a dazzling butter dish. You'll also be able to paint (under glaze) your piece.

**What's included:**

- Clay, under-glazes, and tools
- Our beautiful instruction guide and inspiration to help you along in making your ceramic piece
- Our lovely and experienced pottery host on hand to help
- Aprons
- Two kiln firings and clear glazing of your work

Something unique about our space is we also sell lovely speciality coffee & matcha, so whilst you create something wonderful with clay you can also indulge in a lovely coffee and pastry if you like!

We also have kids hot choccy & juice boxes too :)

We look forward to hosting you!

Please note we only hold onto your pots for 3 months after your initital session. Please collect promtly to avoid dissapointment!

Class was excellent fun and engaging for my 12 year old daughter and her friend. They made a bowl and a butter dish and had calm instructions and kind guidance. I had a nice 3 hour session working next door in the cafe while they had their session. Would recommend x

We loved our workshop - we found it really relaxing and we felt really welcome. I went with my daughter who's 11 and it was great for both of us, and it's hard to find creative workshops that work for adults and kids so this was perfect. It's up to you to decide what you make, with lots of really helpful instructions and references - I made a plant pot and my daughter more ambitiously made a butter dish. Our host was lovely, very patient and informative and happy to give us lots of direction when needed. The space is really beautiful as well, and before the workshop we managed to squeeze in having one of their toasties which was delicious! Highly recommended.

This was a really great class and I would recommend to anyone looking to sculpt some pottery and you also get the chance to do your own glaze! I would say to keep an eye on time so you don’t have to rush at the end. Teachers were great!
