Ali is very knowledgeable and creative in her approach to sewing and upcycling. She encourages you to bring your own creativity in a relaxed and friendly environment where you can explore different possibilities with your project of choice. I upcycled a cream-coloured linen top that is more wearable now after being shortened at the hem, adding back darts, bias binding, and unpicking the centre seam at the front to make it easier to put on. I only need to replace the button with ties and dye it in a bluish colour. The other project was a shapeless white linen dress, which became more fitted at the bust after carefully taking in the side seam with Ali’s guidance and technique. I am planning to dye it in a similar colour to the linen top. Very pleased with the class and looking forward to more classes soon :)
