I received the class as a birthday gift and it was a lovely experience. Sara is welcoming, enthusiastic and has lots of knowledge and ideas to share. We began with a welcome coffee and home made bakes and an introduction to why and how with just a little thought and inspiration sustainability and growing food can be incorporated into anyone’s life whether you have a garden, greenhouse and allotment or just a small balcony (as I have). We spent time looking around the garden where it was fascinating to see the variety of different fruits and vegetables that Sara is able to grow or is just having fun trying. We planted up seeds of everything from sunflowers and beetroots to cucumbers and squash. We planted seeds into small propagation trays directly from a baby shop bought tomato and separated fruit cuttings into individual pots. Sara showed how she uses home made compost. In between the friendly chats and activities there was a delicious home-made lunch. A lovely way to spend a day and came away with homemade preserves and potted plants to grow on at home.
