Step into a professional artist's studio, and immerse yourself in the forgiving and beginner-friendly medium of oil paint. Take your first steps into oil painting in this fully guided 2 and a half hour Introduction to Oil Painting Class, perfect for beginners. Don't worry if you're new to oil painting; this class is designed for beginners, so there's no pressure to be the next Rembrandt. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve in 2.5 hours!
We will go over the basics to get you started and head into the painting together- step by step! By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful painting to take home and proudly display.
Throughout the class, you’ll be led on the journey of painting with oil paints on a bespoke canvas, hand-stretched specially for you.
We will be painting from life, with an arrangement made for each class- so no two classes are the same! To make it that bit easier, we will all be painting the arrangement from the same angle, so that the step by step is that bit more comfortable to follow. The technique we will be using is called "alla-prima", which involves wet-on-wet paint and will give our piece all sorts of lovely textures and effects.
- The workshop will be fully guided, with step-by-step instructions.
- With intimate class sizes of 4, there will be plenty of 1:1 instruction and individual help from your tutor along the way.
- All materials will be provided.
- Aprons will be provided, but please bring clothes you won't mind getting paint on.
- No prior experience is needed, just come with an open mind and willingness to learn; we'll do the rest together!
- Choose a time that comfortably suits you and your schedule!

If you plan to take your painting home same-day, please bring a suitable box (minimum 55cm x 35cm) as it will still be wet. You can also arrange a separate day to collect it once it is touch dry :)
