“I booked this pottery class through ClassBento as a birthday surprise for my sister, and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. The instructor's attitude throughout the session was extremely rude, passive-aggressive, and unwelcoming. She frequently tutted, sighed, walked away while people were speaking, and spoke to participants in a manner that felt more like being reprimanded in a classroom than attending a paid beginner's workshop. What made the experience particularly upsetting was that this was a class aimed at people with little or no pottery experience. Rather than being encouraged and guided through a new skill, participants were shouted at and made to feel uncomfortable for making mistakes. At one point, one member of the class became so unhappy that they left their station and sat the session out, while another participant was clearly struggling and receiving little support. I understand that teaching can be challenging, but there is never an excuse for speaking to paying customers in such a disrespectful manner. We attended the class expecting a fun, welcoming, and creative experience, especially as it was a birthday gift for my sister during a difficult time in her life. Instead, we left feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. The instructor may be highly skilled at pottery, but teaching beginners requires patience, encouragement, and professionalism. Unfortunately, none of those qualities were demonstrated during our session. I would not recommend this class based on our experience, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future participants are treated with more respect.”

“My partner and I attended this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our teacher was great and super helpful throughout the whole class. We got to make a few different items and go completely at our own pace, free to start over when we wanted to. I would highly recommend it.”

“Two very knowledgeable, patient teachers who were very welcoming and supportive. It was great to learn the early stages of throwing. Loved playing with the clay. I’d say more facilitators are required for such a large group, to provide more support to those who needed more assistance in the key stages.”
