Join us for a creative and welcoming Introduction to block printing in Retford, a hands-on workshop exploring the art of hand-printing using Annie Sloan Chalk Paints. Over two and a half hours, you’ll experiment with carved printing blocks, colour, and pattern, learning how to build beautiful designs through playful exploration and repetition.
This workshop is completely beginner-friendly. You don’t need any previous experience with printing or paint -- everything is explained clearly and at an easy pace, with plenty of time to try things out and ask questions as you go.
**What to expect:**
- An introduction to block printing tools, materials, and techniques.
- Guidance on applying colour and using carved blocks effectively.
- Time to experiment freely with patterns and layouts.
- Block printing your own finished pieces: 3 greeting cards, 1 small paper craft bag and 1 kraft gift tag.
- Or if you are wanting to block print on fabric you can choose a Tea Towel or Tote bag
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a collection of hand-printed paper goods, new creative skills, and the confidence to continue block printing at home. It’s a relaxed, satisfying workshop that’s perfect if you enjoy making thoughtful, handmade pieces or want to try something new in a friendly setting!
