Discover Two Beautiful Calligraphy Styles in One Inspiring Day
Join us for a full-day calligraphy taster workshop where you'll explore both pointed nib and brush pen calligraphy. Experiment with a variety of tools, inks, metallics, and colours as you discover the techniques, styles, and effects that appeal to you most.
In the morning, you'll be introduced to pointed nib calligraphy through a series of structured exercises and worksheets. Using coloured and metallic inks, you'll learn how to create elegant letterforms while working from beautifully designed templates by Kirsten Burke. With live demonstrations and personalised guidance throughout, you'll build confidence step by step and leave with finished pieces to be proud of. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, the workshop is designed to make calligraphy approachable, creative, and enjoyable.
We'll break for lunch at approximately 12:45pm for around one hour. You're welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase food from The Long Table restaurant downstairs.
In the afternoon, you'll explore the expressive world of brush pen calligraphy. Working with a range of pens and colours, you'll experiment with different styles and techniques while developing your own creative flair. Sarah will share practical tips, creative inspiration, and expert guidance to help you get the most from the session.
The workshop takes place in The Sanctuary Room and offers a relaxed, welcoming environment to learn, create, and enjoy a day of lettering.
