This is a fun activity in Calverley, Leeds
Join this calligraphy, watercolour florals and sustainable flower arranging workshop at Calverley Old Hall and spend a relaxing afternoon welcoming spring through the beauty of flowers. This special experience brings together two creative sessions in one inspiring setting, allowing you to settle in and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this heritage site and its community garden.
During the first part of your workshop, you'll slow down and explore the art of brush pen lettering and delicate painting. Grace will guide you through the process of creating simple watercolour elements and floral designs, offering plenty of tips to help you hand-letter a favourite quote onto a beautiful A5 print or postcard. It’s a low-pressure environment where you can focus on the feel-good process of getting hands-on with new skills.
The second half of your afternoon transitions into the world of eco-friendly floristry. You'll learn how to design a gorgeous seasonal arrangement using sustainable, foam-free techniques. Your teacher will show you how to create a secure base, work with the natural movement of the stems, and balance shapes to create a professional-looking display in a glass ramekin.
You'll finish the day with a newfound sense of confidence and a collection of handmade treasures to brighten your home. This session offers a wonderful way to switch off from the daily grind and leave feeling completely refreshed by your own artistic potential.
Please note: Flowers may vary from those shown in photos depending on seasonal availability.
