You'll get to grips with basic jewellery making tools and terminology. We will use lovely thick wire either round or flat. You will have a choice of stone. It will be an 8mm or larger round flat backed cabochon
(provided).
The fundamental principles of working with metal are explained throughout your jewellery course. You'll learn:
- sawing and the use of the piercing saw
- filing
- annealing
- how to form the metal
- different types of soldering
- hammer texturing
- how to set a round cabochon stone in fine silver
- polishing and finishing
Your teacher will be on hand to provide support and guidance as you learn and you'll be given lots of information to help build your skills.
