Join this one-on-one introduction to woodturning workshop near Huddersfield and learn the foundational skills of this rewarding craft. In this private, three-hour activity, you'll receive dedicated tuition from the Happy Turner, guiding you through every step of the process.
Woodturning is a fascinating woodworking technique where you use hand-held tools to shape a piece of wood as it spins on a lathe. You'll learn how to safely operate the machinery and use specialised gouges and scrapers to transform a simple block of wood into a beautifully smooth, symmetrical object.
The workshop is designed to build your confidence from the ground up. You'll start with a wooden spindle to practise and hone your skills. Once you're comfortable, you'll move on to create your very own finished piece(s) to take home.
In this class, you will learn to turn a mushroom. (Pictures are just an example; exact size, shape, and wood may vary. Natural colouration and imperfections will make each piece a unique decorative piece in its own right.)
