This is a fun activity in Wood Green, London
In this nalbinding workshop in London, you will learn how to master an ancient technique! It is a way of making fabric from a single thread, similar in purpose to knitting or crochet, but much older. You'll work on a wrist warmer, and an extra piece if time allows.
Don't worry if you're new to this technique -- you'll receive expert tuition throughout the process in a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of opportunities for questions and support.
**What to expect:**
- Using a needle and your thumb, you will bind the thread around itself to create interlocking loops.
- This technique has been used in different ways across times and cultures; in this class, you will learn the Oslo stitch.
- You will learn how to begin your work, create a starting chain, and build stitches onto it to form fabric.
- We will also cover how to make increases and decreases, as nalbinding cannot be cut -- everything must be shaped as you make it!
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a completed or in progress wrist warmer, plus new skills in this ancient craft to keep practicing with at home.
