Session 1: Getting Started with the Sewing Machine (1 hour)
- Introduction to sewing machine components.
- Setting up and threading the sewing machine.
- Winding and installing the bobbin.
- Understanding the different machine feet and how to change them.
Session 2: Basic Stitching Techniques (1 hour)
- Learning straight stitches, zigzag stitches, and decorative stitches.
- Practice stitching in a straight line, in the round, and around curves.
- Understanding stitch length and width adjustments.
Session 3: Seams and Finishing Techniques (1 hour)
- Exploring various seam types (straight, zigzag, overlock).
- Hands-on experience in finishing seams for a polished look.
- Tips for preventing fraying and securing stitches.
Break (30 minutes)
Session 4: Applying Skills to Create Bags (1.5 hours)
- Step-by-step guide to making a simple Tote bag or.
- Making a Chair throw using learned techniques.
