Your experience begins with a warming cup of green tea as you're introduced to the history and techniques of this traditional art form. Once you've found your rhythm, it's time to put your precision to the test by getting hands-on with the fresh ingredients provided.

Throughout this session, you'll work through various techniques to create a beautiful selection of dishes:

- Master the art of sushi rolls – Learn how to layer and roll ingredients for the perfect bite.
- Create delicate nigiri – Practice the balance of seasoning and shape for these classic pieces.
- Craft a salmon and avocado handroll – Bring everything together with a final, stylish creation.

You'll finish the session by sitting down to dine on the fruits of your labour, complemented by a bowl of miso soup and a glass of sparkling sake. It’s a wonderful way to switch off and connect with a new skill, leaving you with the confidence to recreate these delicious flavours in your own kitchen.

We attended a sushi-making class hosted by Kazuyo, one of the head chefs, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The class was incredibly insightful. We learned everything from how to prepare sushi rice properly, which sounds simple, but involves several important techniques to achieve the perfect texture and flavour, to the art of rolling sushi. Kazuyo was a wonderful instructor i.e. friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about her craft. She made the class fun, interactive, and easy to follow, even for complete beginners. After the class, we had the pleasure of enjoying the sushi we had prepared, accompanied by a glass of high-quality sake, which made the experience even more memorable. The service throughout was outstanding, with the restaurant staff being attentive, welcoming, and friendly. Overall, this was a perfect experience combining excellent teaching, delicious food, and exceptional service. A big thank you to Kazuyo for making it such an enjoyable and memorable occasion. Highly recommended!

Attended the Sushi making masterclass recently, set in the mellow environment of the Tokii restaurant at The Prince Akatoki hotel. Everyone was charming and welcoming and the Saké was a delight. The chef (Toni) was very patient and demonstrated everything, he also helped when I needed assistance. The ingredients were stand out and he explained the different types of Tuna used in sushi making. We made Maki, Nigiri, Temaki and Urumaki. It proved to be a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening and we came home with dinner sorted. I would highly recommend if you want to learn about sushi and how to roll it in a relaxed environment.
