This is a fun activity in Leeds
Join this ceramic decoration workshop and transform plain tableware into beautiful, functional art.
Think scrapbooking… but on ceramics!
You'll spend a relaxing couple of hours arranging, layering, and playing with a curated collection of professionally printed ceramic decals. Think of them as permanent, high-quality tattoos for your tableware.
You don't need any pottery skills, drawing experience, or previous artistic training to get involved – this session is completely low-pressure and designed for absolute beginners. Your instructor will provide hands-on help every step of the way, guiding you through the process of applying the illustrations and patterns to create a style that's entirely your own.
During the class, you will:
- Discover how to work with ceramic decals – Learn the simple, satisfying technique of applying pre-designed illustrations to ceramic surfaces.
- Create your own design – Browse hundreds of ceramic decals in different themes, then mix, match and arrange them to create a piece that’s uniquely yours.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own mug or side plate. If inspiration strikes, you can also add extra ceramic pieces during the workshop from £8 each.
- Personalised decals – Add a custom pet portrait, favourite quote or other personal design from £5. Please get in touch at least 3 weeks before your workshop to arrange.
After kiln firing, the designs become permanently fused to the ceramic surface, transforming them into beautiful pieces designed for everyday use. Whether for your morning coffee, an afternoon cake, or a favourite snack, they’ll bring a little extra joy to your table for years to come.
Workshops are held at either chillchillcats goodies & craftroom in Leeds Corn Exchange or A Touch of Craft Yorkshire in Ossett.
- At Leeds Corn Exchange, you’ll create in a cosy independent shop surrounded by local artists, makers and unique handmade goods. Collect your finished ceramics from the shop, or have them posted to you for an additional £6.
- In Ossett, enjoy a bright studio with free parking, tea and coffee (honesty box), and your finished ceramics posted to you after firing.
Both venues offer a relaxed, friendly environment that’s perfect for unwinding, trying something new, and enjoying a creative experience.
Please note:
- Finished pieces will be kiln-fired after the workshop and ready for collection in around 2 weeks.
- Participants will be asked to choose between a mug or a side plate before the workshop. Other ceramic options may be available depending on stock.
- The Ossett venue is on the first floor and accessed via stairs only.
