“Such a cute way to spend a weekend morning! We started with tea and cookies, and a walkthrough of the various woods and tools, before getting stuck into 3+ hours of carving. Alma, who is insanely talented and lovely, was on hand throughout to guide us through the process. It's hard work, but rewarding, and I'll definitely be booking in for more classes.”
“Alma was a friendly, supportive and incredibly informative teacher. I loved the class so much that I am thinking of attending some more classes with Decoteca.
The venue had a great vibe and the class size was perfect.
Be sure to bring clothes you don’t feel so precious about as it can get rather messy!”
“It’s a fun activity to do on a weekend and you get to learn basics of woodcarving. You wouldn’t even realise that you have spent 4 hours carving a sooon. Very engaging. I kinda found it very meditative. Alma is very sweet and encouraging. She will take care of all queries. There are a lot of equipments and she runs few other courses as well. I would definitely do another workshop soon.”
“The class was amazing Alma is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience teaching, so everything is clearly explained. She takes time to explain wood types, tools to use, carving techniques, etc and the class is small enough that everyone gets sufficient 1 on 1 time with her. She even gets biscuits, pastries and tea for everyone in the class I am very happy with my spoon, 100% recommended”
“I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It was great fun and I just love my spoon ! Thank you Alma for your patience and expertise. I cannot wait to make many more spoons in the future !”
“This was the perfect introduction to wood whittling. Alma was a very knowledgeable and patient teacher and the day was so much fun! 10/10 would recommend”
“This was an excellent workshop. As a beginner, I felt confident to do the carving as everything was explained well. Alma went through the qualities of the different types of wood and was helpful throughout the workshop. I was very happy with the spoon I completed.”
