“My first time at the Upcycling Centre and the class was exactly as described. The 2 experts helped everyone who attended with their specific items they wanted to alter. We all learned from each other too and it had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be signing up for another class soon!”
“Teachers were very knowledgeable, super patient and try really hard to help you achieve your goal for the day.
Great set up, lots of resources, equipment.
Perhaps too many attendees and only two teachers.”
“Ali provided me with encouragement, advice and practical skills to help tweak my op finds.
It was a lovely warm environment and a very nice social activity. The small class size meant that each person could receive 1-1 guidance. Would definitely recommend-especially for someone who already has some sewing skills, and just needs a little confidence boost to tackle the “I’ll do it later” piles!”
“I bought in 2 dresses that were too big and a skirt. All are now ready for me to wear. The teacher was really knowledgeable and patient with so many practical tips. Would definitely recommend and hope to do another soon.”
“I went to this class with my friend and we had so much fun! I learnt a lot of detailed techniques from my instructor, Gaye, like how to measure and cut precisely, how much wiggle room to leave etc. This was my first time getting to use a sewing machine I’ve had sitting in the shed for nearly 3 years now, so I’m so glad I went to this class for a “taster”. I’m now ready to commit to a full sewing course with Gaye! Remember this class is open to beginners—I had no idea how to even turn my sewing machine on and I walked away learning how to use my machine. Amazing class and can’t wait for more!!”
