Molly was an amazing teacher. We came into the class knowing next to nothing about using a pottery wheel, and we left with confidence in the basic fundamentals of wheel throwing! Thank you for such a fun and amazing experience!

Booked this course not really knowing why it had the word Throwing. Attended and was shown a demo of what we would do. Looked too easy and not too messy. Our turn. Rings off first. Aprons on. Butterflies collecting in the stomach. Throw practice - seemed easy. Spin the wheel and fix the clay - Oh no it's slipping all over the place. Try again. Abandon that. Clean and dry the wheel and start again with a fresh red ball. "press down hard" came the encouragement. Finally it stuck and now to begin the air bubble removal. Oh what fun and so many giggles. A bit wobbly, press down back. Hands feeling it. Cuddle time - "palms not fingers" - they create ridges. "Towards you". More help needed as it is flopping. Corrected. Magically the calm happens. More water. Feeling the soft smooth clay in your hand, shaping, moulding, abandon that , start shaping again. Could go on but advice was - "its good, finish". Water the wheel not the clay. Cheese cutting time firm and quick. Yeah I did it! The course was instructive and so much fun. We didn't get too messy as their aprons were good. Hands were really messy but smooth afterwards. Would do this again.

I enjoyed the wheel throwing class. I found the instructor to very very friendly and knowledgeable. I made a few nice pieces for my first go at wheel throwing in a long time. I would recommend this class for someone wanting to learn something new or wanting to give wheel throwing a go. It was fun.
