The concept itself I found much easier than I had anticipated, cutting and laying out the cut glass in an organic way was very relaxing and fun. A great activity to do on your own or with friends, I intend to return and make some more bowls as special gifts for family and friends. “This was an amazing class and our first Class Bento experience. What a day! My dad and I have never done any craft that involved glass before and Merryl was a fantastic teacher who went through the cause and effect that could be expected when creating shapes using short rectangles and multiple layering of glass pieces to create a desired outcome. I love organic shapes, but opted for a bowl that would be slightly more symmetrical and mandala-like in design, while my dad went for a look that would allow the glass when fused to go however it wanted. Merryl was able to help give us smaller pieces and ensured that our designs would work and stick, but the creative expression was on the whole ours. We are looking forward to our pieces being fired and hope that they look just as amazing as the ones in the photos as part of this experience.”

“Our instructor, guide and colour mentor :) went above and beyond, provided hints and what would take things to the next level without diminishing our idea. lots of materials to use (perhaps too much choice :D), the hardest thing is waiting till you can get your finished work, but its worth it. Would definitly do another class.”
