“Super fun class, 5 hours flew by and I would have happily kept going. Nick was an awesome teacher. He was knowledgeable and calm and never got tired of reassuring us that we had not completely messed up our pieces. I loved that the class was small so we got 1-on-1 assistance from Nick whenever we needed. The wood and starting pieces provided were easy to pick up and use and I was pretty happy with my final piece. The workshop does get quite cold as the door stays open so make sure you bring a warm jacket!
Overall, super fun experience. I could definitely see myself picking this up as a hobby!”
“Fun course, great instructor.
Nick spent time with everyone and gave practical demonstrations of what to do (he must have a lot of partly completed animals at different stages of being carved so he can demonstrate what to do for different parts of the animal)
Hint: start with the softwood, the rosewood looks nice but it's harder and more difficult to carve.”
“Nick was attentive detailed and encouraging with different choices and explorations in whittling, choosing between a womabt a dog the wood type the carving style the knife style etc”
“The whittling class was great. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. Our instructor was great. He was very positive and patient, allowing us to work at our own pace.
I recommend it.”
“I've been wanting to try whittling for a while now and it turns out I love it. Nick is an excellent teacher and there's a fun range of projects to work on. (You can also go off the beaten bath if you want and Nick will help you all the same.)”
“An awesome time! Our teacher was lovely and the class atmosphere was sweet and relaxing. Me and my partner whittled a wombat each and we adore them a ton.”
