I attended a tufting workshop with the utterly divine Sez – part artist, part wizard, part calming forest witch who smells faintly of inspiration and success. She guided me (and my more complex design) through the sacred art of poking yarn through fabric with the confidence of a woman who has seen things…… definitely chaotic rugs.
Now, let’s talk about my design. Was it simple? No. Was it reasonable? Also no. Did it look like something that would make an art teacher weep softly into their Pinot Noir? Absolutely. But did Sez flinch? Not even once. This woman stared into the swirling void of my overly ambitious tufting dreams and said, "We can work with this." Like Michelangelo with a tufting gun, she helped sculpt nonsense into something vaguely magnificent.
She offered support, encouragement, and at one point, possibly a small summoning ritual to stop my yarn from misbehaving. Her catchphrase became: “We can adapt as we go” — which is also now tattooed across my soul.
By the end, I felt I had created a tufted masterpiece
