Iridescent Glazing Workshop: Paint Your Unique Coffee Set Reviews

4 Rating 6 Reviews
Do not pay for this workshop. Unless you are wanting the fired pottery look, you are better off going to Kmart and buying everything you need in the craft section and having a nice night in for a fraction of the price. That would have been a better experience. The workshop felt very unorganised and unprofessional. The instructor described what the different paints looked like once fired but there was no clear direction, no clear instructions, no demonstration for the workshop. Essentially we were told “sketch and paint”. Had we known that was the extent of the workshop, we would not have paid for it. He left us alone and after we finished the initial sketch, we sat and waited for the next steps for 15 mins, when there was no sign of him returning, we had to go and interrupt the pottery class next door to ask for the instructor. There were not enough tools for the 3 of us to use. No towels to wipe off the paint after washing out brushes so we were left to squeeze off the paint brushes in between the paper given. He was unwilling to provide us with red paint because it was a new batch that just arrived. We confirmed with him twice that yes we would like to use the red paint - what else are we paying for??? He told us to take a picture off his phone for instructions on how to collect the pieces which would be ready in roughly 5 weeks. I contacted them when it was over 5 weeks as we had not heard anything. He said he would check them but I heard nothing back. Sent another follow up email and they said they’ll ask the instructor. I’ve just sent another one and am currently waiting for a reply although I have little hope for that. That’s a total of 3 emails with no update to whether our pieces were fired already or when we can collect the pieces. Communication has been poor to say the least. I should not have to follow up 3 times, 2 months after the workshop. For all I know, they’ve taken our $207 and have nothing to show for it. I am feeling inclined to escalate and take further action if I do not receive an appropriate response. Extremely disappointing. Highly discourage anyone from attending and paying for this workshop.

The glazing was super fun, would definitely recommend. If you love to paint and decorate this is definitely the class for you. I'm very excited to get our items back and see how they turned out. Unfortunately we had a couple setbacks at this class. When we arrived they were not ready for us, and it was our teachers first time teaching this class so she didn't really know what was going on either. She was very lovely, and it was definitely just the fact it was her first time on the class, but it did set our experience back a little bit.

The class was a lot of fun. There were 6 in our group and it was fun to see everyone's different ideas come to life. The only improvement I would suggest is for the instructor to speak louder and give clearer instructions. It took us all quite a long time to really understand what type of paints to use for the projects we wanted to create. Everyone felt very confused and it took a long time to sort out.

Lots of fun. Teacher was attentive but not overbearing. Would suit date night or girls’ night. Grown up plaster funhouse Don’t have the final product but this is it pre firing! Great pottery throw down here we come!

I had a great time with my friend! The atmosphere was great, and the teacher was so patient, helpful and kind. I highly recommend it if you want to do something different and artsy with someone or even by yourself. I can’t wait to see the end product ( ◠‿◠ )
