“I recently attended Hanna’s sourdough rye baking course, and it was absolutely fantastic. The class was held at her home, which gave the whole experience a warm, intimate touch — the perfect setting to learn how to make authentic European-style rye bread.
While we didn’t bake a full loaf during the class (the process takes time across several stages), we did get hands-on with all the key parts of maintaining and working with a sourdough starter — which you actually get to take home. Hanna has a real wealth of knowledge, and it’s worth taking plenty of notes and asking questions as you go.
I left the course confident, inspired, and armed with everything I needed to bake my first loaf at home. Even my first attempt turned out amazing, thanks to the practical tips and clear explanations Hanna shared.
Coming from Germany, I’ve really missed proper rye sourdough — it’s nearly impossible to find here in Australia. Now, I can finally bake my own! It’s not quite at the level of a master German baker yet, but it’s already pretty damn good.
If you’re German and craving real bread, or just someone wanting to expand your baking skills beyond basic white and multigrain loaves, I can’t recommend this course enough. It’s a brilliant and genuinely rewarding experience in a nice and relaxing atmosphere over 2 hours.”
“I chose this class because I wanted learn how to bake my own sourdough at home. The presentation was excellent and our teacher Hana answered all our queries. It was nice that I could get hold of the tools that were used during the course, so I can follow the instructions the very next day, before I forget all about it!
I was disappointed that Rye flour was not widely available in supermarkets near me. I strongly recommend this course if you love sourdough!”

“A very well prepared presentation., covering not only the method and ingredients needed, but also the tools necessary, plus recipes and starter culture to take home.
Hannah was very open to our questions and the taste testing of sourdough bread and crackers she had made, was Devine.”
