Semi-guided Pottery Painting Workshop Reviews

The session was marketed as a “semi-guided ceramic painting experience,” but in reality it was entirely self service. After a brief introduction where we were shown the dishes and given a sheet, we were left on our own for the entire session with no guidance, check ins, or support. The materials were underwhelming. The Edding ceramic pens were patchy and difficult to use, with a very limited colour range. The “ceramic options” were also not as advertised. We ended up using Home & Co plates, with no real choice or variety. This was disappointing given the expectation that we would be able to select from a range of ceramics. For $60 per person, the value is not there. This felt no different from a DIY activity that could easily be done at home with Kmart supplies for a fraction of the cost. Calling this a guided or semi guided experience is misleading when the provided sheet itself says “self service.” Overall, a disappointing experience that did not meet expectations in terms of guidance, materials, or value for money. I will say, they were flexible with time and did allow us to work a little longer than the booking - but this may be them forgetting we were there.

It was fun as we got to have freedom with our designs and the pens made it easier. However we didn’t have many options in terms of ceramics and also some pen colours weren’t working which limited our designs. Also we had to go looking for assistance once they had come out of the oven as no one was in the room to assist

What a fantastic experience!! Christine was wonderful and friendly and really helped make our experience easy and fun. We will most certainly be back to try another class/workshop. My only wish was that there was more ceramic options available to choose from!

Becky is lovely and accommodating. The shop is peaceful and we felt that there was a focus on mindfulness. We enjoyed our time here. We used ceramic pens to draw designs on selected ceramic pieces.

Our 13/09 fridge magnet painting instructor was very funny and helped us out a lot! We painted a Vincent Van Gogh magnet and a Girl with a Cat magnet, it was altogether very peaceful and fun. Coffee was also delicious, and we got cute handmade rings after class as well :) Thank you for the great session!
