Particularly appreciated the teacher staying back a bit to graciously help with my wife's very complicated bowl (broken into many more pieces than usual)!”
“I really enjoyed the brief history of kintsugi and our instructor's recommendations on setting an intention for our pieces. We were given plenty of time to finish them and support on mending difficult breaks. Only downside is it's not recommended to use the plates for eating as the glue/mica isn't food safe. “I really enjoyed the Kintsugi workshop and learning about the history and meaning behind this beautiful art form. We each chose our own plate, intentionally broke it, and then repaired it using the traditional Kintsugi technique, which was such a unique and mindful experience.
The teacher was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. I do wish the technique had been explained in a little more detail—particularly around using enough glue so it seeps out to create the signature gold line effect. That extra guidance would have made the process feel even more complete.
Would highly recommend if you are after a different type of activity to try, and have a few hours getting out of your own thoughts.”
