We loved the class! Sonya was a great host and teacher. Everything moved at a good pace and it was really interesting to learn strategies for batch cooking. And the food was so delicious - we will use recipes regularly at home.

Sonya’s knowledge and love of vegetables was evident and the taste was enhanced by an array of spices, roasted almonds and flavoursome red barberries. Kale and roasted vegetables were cleverly combined to create Indian and Middle eastern dishes. Will definitely be back for more of this nutritious deliciousness.

I recently joined Healthy Cooking Class: Batch Prep Grains and Veggies with Sonya, and it was such a great experience! Sonya was expertly prepared, professional, and at the same time made the session feel relaxed and fun. The class was packed with useful tips and genuinely eye-opening ideas. I especially loved the method she suggested—it gave me real food for thought and inspired me to rethink not only my weekly food shopping but also how I approach meal prep overall. I walked away feeling motivated, better equipped, and excited to put these ideas into practice. Highly recommend!

I've always felt a bit intimidated by cooking, feeling like to make something taste nice it requires a lot of skill and effort. Yesterday's cooking class helped me understand that it's actually a lot simpler and easier to cook something healthy that tastes amazing than it looks. It also helped me understand the nutritional values of what I am cooking with and gave me experience cooking awesome easy recipes that I can easily reproduce at home. Thanks Sonya!

If you’re looking for inspiration to cook healthy, vegetable and grain dense foods that combine in ways you’ve never considered before, this is the class for you. We made 4 dishes, so much in a short amount of time, using so much fresh kale, honey, sweet potato, buckwheat and other veggies etc. Sonya peppered many tips into the class about veggies and markets - and ways to prepare food in advance so future meals have their base covered. Her print out of the recipes was excellent, including an extensive grid of grains/veggies and their cooking times. Plus of course the recipes of what you’ll make on the day. I have already made a trip to the Flemington farmers market for kale, turnips, herbs and carrots which have made their way into some recipes! Sonya is very knowledgeable, she had more to say than could fit into a single session so it’s great to see she is holding more classes. Bring a Tupperware container and an empty stomach and I think you’ll really enjoy this class.
