“We'll had a great time. We spent the first 30min leaning about coffee and the roasting process etc. Our feedback and suggestions:
* Start with the tasting so everyone can have a hot cup off coffee while listening to the wonderful and charismatic host
* Instead of having 1 cup for each type of coffee per person, have 1 cup per person and spoon/ladle/pour coffee in. This let's you try a lot more types of coffee without having lots of mugs.
* More varieties/pairs of coffee to compare, e.g:
- "These two are from the same farm, but one is washed vs natural"
- Blends made from different places in the same region to highlight the common characteristics of that region.
- Same region, different altitude.
- Prepare the same coffee 3 different ways to show the difference
* The most fun was trying to guess an unknown coffee based on smell/taste. After initial tasting, provide some unknown samples A,B,C, etc and get people to try and workout which is which, or make it something new and try and guess the origin”
