Learnt a lot of great information and authentic ways of cooking , where to buy the most traditional ingredients and how to cook in different ways. “I highly recommend Vanilla Zulu cooking classes. My son and I found the Japanese Masterclass interesting and lots of fun. Chef Tong kept everything going at the right pace and the food we sampled was delicious! The class was the perfect mix of observing, doing and eating. “Awesome cooking class in a professional and friendly environment. We learned to make udon noodles and gyoza from scratch. The class was 3 hours so the chef's team prepped the dumpling fillings and sliced the sushi salmon ahead of time - the logic being you're there to learn new skills like making the gyoza wrappings, and wrapping the dumplings and shaping the rice for the sushi, or shaping and cutting the noodles. The best part was we'd get to feast on what we just made throughout the class so instead of one big meal at the end we had 3 meal breaks throughout.
We've already made udon noodles from scratch since the class and it was delicious! We plan to feast on gyoza tonight. Loved learning new cooking skills during the class, and using those new skills regularly now!”
