“Such a great activity! Not really a class, you get a few tips and practice and then dive into your own piece. Your arms will be sore but it’s really fun!”
“This workshop was chosen by our 13 year old granddaughter who visited from out of town. We chose images and she had done research to learn how to prepare them for good results in the project. We drove in from the suburbs and got there in plenty of time. The stations were ready, but they seemed short staffed and it took a while to get started. The image tracing was quick and we had a great tutorial. The instructor was friendly and efficient, but she had too many people to help. It took about twenty minutes to learn that it wasn’t faulty technique, but equipment with different problems before we got going. We also had some difficulty with yard that was knotted so there was some frustration along the way. I think most of this could have been avoided with one more person helping. In the end, we were very pleased with our results and time together. It was a really good time and we would do it again. Now that we know what to expect, we would be better able to recognize when to ask for help. Thank you for providing the experience!”
“Overall, my friend and I liked this class! We were disappointed by the lack of guidance though. Here are my feedback points:
- lack of guidance and unstructured welcome/instruction left us confused and wasting time at the beginning, which made us stressed to finish our rugs on time
- zero communication with the teacher except at the very beginning, and teacher seemed unknowledgeble about rug tufting specifically and generally unenthusiastic
- no guidance on how difficult a pattern might be to tuft. I chose something way too detailed and had no idea, and my arm hurt for 3 days after this class
- very fun if you like a hands-off approach, and we both loved the final products
- we ended up staying an hour later than our class was because we couldn't finish on time, but nobody seemed to care to kick us out, so we were still able to finish”
“We had a great time tufting, and it was a wonderful experience. I attended the tufting session with my partner, and we used a medium-sized cloth. We shared a frame and worked together on the project. As a beginner, having a partner was really helpful. We took turns to finish the mat. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.”
