“Again the Custom Rug Tufting Workshop was very enjoyable. Iggy, the owner of Rugged Looks is very nice and personable. Iggy contacted me and informed that if I desired, I could start the workshop earlier than booked. I desired. LOL
I began at 10:00 AM and proceeded to work on my canvas of Eeyore's head (see photo), which had been pre-drawn by Rugged Looks. Upon request, Iggy offered his opinion of which colored yarns best matched the photo. When presented with my choice(s), he said that it was good match, or offered a closer one.
I worked on the canvas for the next couple of hours, and when it came close to the ending time, Iggy was again gracious in allowing me time to complete the tufting of the rug.
Upon completion of the tufting, I left the rug for Iggy to finish processing, shaving the rug to have all yarn of equal length, gluing the back of the rug and applying a backing to ensure the yarn remains in place. The rug is usually available for pickup about two (2) weeks later.
For anyone looking to learn rug tufting, I would recommend Rugged Looks wholeheartedly.”
“The tufting rug was very enjoyable!! Idris; the moderator; and his wife Sabrina of Rugged Looks; company name; were very nice and informative. He had the canvas pre-prepared with the images selected by myself and the other participant. After my arrival, Idris first spent time with me to dicsuss which colored yarns would most match the colors in the photo of my image.
Idris also gave a very thorough and easy to understand demostration of the tufting tool to be used. Then handed the tool over to myself and had me practice on a canvas used just for practice. Then when I confident in the use, I then to work on my canvas; see photo(s).
After that I went to work and Idris was there to answer any questions or offer suggestions on how to achieve the best looking image possible.
The best thing of the entire experience was that Idris allowed myself and the other participant time to completely finish our respective rugs. The workshop was due to end at 3:00 pm, but actually ended at 5:00 pm thanks to his kindness and love of the art that he didn't rush us to finish.
After completion we left our rugs for Rugged Looks to perform tasks to make the rug even more attractive. Tasks such as shaving, gluing a backing and felt to stabilize the yarn in place.
While there others available to do rug tufting, Rugged Looks is probably the best choice in price, options of rug size and their willingness to allow purchaser their choice of image for the rug.
I am definitely going to purchase another rug from Rugged Looks in the foreseeable future.
