“This class was everything! The energy was on such a high frequency. I really enjoyed the meditation and intention setting. I thought I was coming to gain a skill, but left with so much more. The host Akoya was nothing less than phenomenal and extremely welcoming. 10/10!”
“The class was easy and fun and a great activity for folks of all ages. Aanakah is a marvelous teacher and has a calm demeanor. We didn’t feel rushed, she set a warm and friendly tone/mood for the class, and she used high quality materials. This is definitely worth the money and time!”
“Based on the reviews that others left, I was super excited for this class but my experience was not at all what others folks outlined. My class was on a Sunday and scheduled for 2-4:30pm.
The class started 20mins late because the instructor was wrapping up another class. When we were allowed in, the instructor made tea and distributed it and the vibe was just awkward. We were basically just talking amongst ourselves for 10mins wondering what the hell was going on. Then we did introductions (with the instructor responding to nearly every comment) and a meditation which took another 40mins. None of this was listed in the description so I was caught off guard and frankly annoyed that we weren’t starting what we paid for.
When we finally got to making the incense, everyone was missing something—worksheet, pipette, sticks, etc. indicating that there was little preparation for the class.
The process of getting the ingredients to make the incense was disorganized and confusing. Everyone on my side of the table kept asking what the “Sheila” was and the instructor gave a very confusing answer which resulted in poor selections. This took about 45mins to smell and select our materials.
By the time we got around to actually making the incense, we had roughly 30 minutes to actually do the activity. I was frustrated because an experience that I thought was going to be relaxing ended up being quite stressful with the lack of clarity throughout the process and the poor time management.
TLDR; the cost for this class is insane for what you actually do/how much time is dedicated to incense making. I felt like my time was not respected and the instructor came off as rude and terse at times. In the end, my incense lacked intention because I had to rush through its construction to continue my day. Would not recommend.”
“The instructor went above and beyond to get to know the students and to provide a safe, relaxing environment. The instructions were very clear, and I had a great time learning a new skill.”
“Well enjoyed night out with self to include being around other first time experiencers of this workshop! The pre set your intentions part of the workshops was so great for this type of creation. All and all I would most definitely do this workshop again and again!”
“The incense-making glass class with Demi of Traces of Akoya, was an absolute delight! The hands-on experience was engaging, and the materials and presentation were top-notch.
What truly made the class exceptional was the dynamic and knowledgeable Demi, who brought creativity, passion, and warmth to every step of the process. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made learning both fun and inspiring. I walked away with not only a beautiful creation but also a deeper appreciation for the craft. Highly recommend!”
