We enjoyed our cake decorating class. The teacher and assistants were very helpful and guided us through everything, making sure we left with a cake we could be proud of. We will return to take another class for sure!

The woman who runs this business had such a nasty attitude that she made me cry. I would have left, except this was my birthday party that I paid $700 for. The class was already off to a bad start when the owner was visibly annoyed with me and my party. I had paid for a private class with 6 of my friends so we could have a fun and relaxed time and move at our own pace without disturbing others. So I was surprised that were being hurried and shushed and not allowed to giggle and chat with each other. Then I saw that there was another guest in our private class, and realized that maybe that’s why the owner was mad at us for not being studious cake decorating pupils. When I mentioned the fact that this was supposed to be a private class, the owner just glared at me with a loud “NO”, as if she were reprimanding a dog or a small child. I am sensitive to being yelled at (especially at my expensive birthday party), but I reminded the owner of the emails that we had exchanged which confirmed that this was a private class. She eventually realized she made a mistake. My friends asked what I wanted to do, and one of them mentioned getting a refund and leaving. The owner again yelled at us “there’s no way you’re getting a refund at this point.” She offered to refund the difference in the cost between the private and public class for my group, but that would be a $105 refund out of $700 for a group class that I did not want. Eventually I started crying because this was not what I had expected for my birthday. Instead of being kind, the owner kept yelling “What do you want me to do about it??” I even asked her if she could use a softer tone and she continued to yell “I’m not yelling at you”, as tears were actively streaming down my face. Eventually I proposed the solution that my friends and I just decorate at our own table by ourselves and she could teach the other student at the other table. From there, my friends and I kind of salvaged my birthday. They booped some frosting on my nose and tried to make me laugh as I was crying (Picture attached for proof)! The college aged girl who was assisting the class ended up being a sweetheart and helped me and my friends make our cakes how we wanted. She was definitely the bright light of this otherwise sad class. Thankful to her for making my birthday not a total loss.
