“We booked a bagel-making class through ClassBento in NYC as a surprise birthday gift for my wife, and it was such a fun experience. The studio itself is a real working kitchen, which made the class feel immersive and hands-on from the start. Rosemary was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. She mentioned she teaches all kinds of courses, has run her own teaching studio for 15–20 years, and even teaches around the world. It was especially interesting to hear that she used to be a cosmetology scientist.
We made everything completely from scratch, and Rosemary never rushed us. She took pictures throughout the class and shared lots of extra cooking tips, even about other foods we make at home. I also loved learning little facts along the way, like cream cheese being another form of paneer. Because two people in our group got sick and couldn’t make it, we unexpectedly ended up with a nearly private class, which made the experience feel even more special. She also offered soft drinks and water, which was a nice touch.
My only small downside is that for the price, I wish we had taken home a few more bagels—but honestly, I still can’t complain because the experience itself was so enjoyable and personal. One tip: bring a snack if you think you’ll want one, and be aware that parking can be tight if you’re coming from far away.”

“Rosemary was an excellent teacher! She gave us lots of tips and tricks that would help us when remaking the bagels again at home. We had so much fun taking this class and learned a lot. Not only do you learn new skills but you also go home with lots of bagels and a tub of cream cheese each. We made everything bagels, salt and garlic bagels and both plain and pesto cream cheese. I can honestly say it was the best bagel I have ever had and highly recommend this experience!”
