“TLDR: The instructor THREW AWAY mine and my friend's ceramics in addition to the horrible experience. The instructor is RECORDING you on video (without giving any disclosures). Entire experience was 0/10
This was the WORST experience I've ever had.
Firstly, there was no instruction whatsoever (for intro to pottery) which was very awkward and difficult for two individuals who have never done pottery. Secondly, the instructor was simultaneously teaching multiple different workshops at once, which was not how this class was advertised. The instructor was fully focused on the workshop for creating a chalice. Thirdly, I had to request that my friend and I get additional instructions multiple times for her to even approach us. Additionally, the instructor was extremely unprofessional. Not only was this "studio" the balcony of her house (I'm afraid of heights so I wouldn't have signed up if I knew) but she was openly arguing with a participant who was doing the ramen bowl workshop regarding the amount of clay necessary for the bowl, refusing to provide more clay, and when the participant requested a refund, the instructor said she would only refund the money after she was finished with all her classes for the evening.
This was an activity to celebrate my birthday, and I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. When I received an email from ClassBento to leave a private review, I did so. In response, Daisy, the instructor, sent me a hostile email in response and told me that she recorded us on video -- this is so creepy and there was no disclosure of video.
After two months of trying to get our pots, ClassBento customer service told me Daisy stopped responding to them. The instructor never emailed us to tell us they were ready to begin with. Today, customer service finally told me that Daisy "mistakenly" threw them away -- which is crazy because my friend's had her name carved into hers. I regret taking this class.”
“Had a great time making pottery! The instructor was very nice and friendly. One thing I wish was different was the amount of time we had on the pottery. It would have been nice if we could spend more time on the pottery, but no biggie. :)”
“It was so fun, and Daisy made it feel welcoming. The studio is in her home and the kitchen is converted into a work space. I loved the homey and professional vibes of the place— even though we’re in an apartment! Overall, I want to come back!!”
“The class was so fun and interesting! The instructor was great! She gave clear instructions, provided a great attitude, environment and really made us feel welcome! 10/10 would recommend and would definitely take the class again!!”
“A fun and laid-back pottery class to create whatever your heart’s desire. I bought the class for myself and a friend as her birthday gift, and we both enjoyed it!! Our instructor was so kind and provided all supplies. Instructions were easy to follow as well. Suitable for solo, date or group event.”
“This class was amazing! We were a big party and it took a while for us to get ourselves together, but Daisy was so patient and good at giving us just enough advice to be successful! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a pottery party.”
