“I had such a wonderful experience at Blue Room Pottery Studio! I have always wanted to take a wheel throwing pottery class as I have only ever done hand-building, and it did not disappoint!! What a cool and fun experience! Right away Milena welcomed us in with such enthusiasm and excitement to have us in her new beautiful studio! She designed the studio herself and you can see that all of her passion, creativity and love went into the entire space. It is bright and colorful, great music playing and the vibes are all there! Milena started the workshop with a quick lesson which was so great to learn and understand the materials we would be working with. Then she gave a great demonstration (she is so talented in her craft!) and after that we got to work, aprons on and hands full of clay. We were lucky enough to learn/create two different wheel throwing techniques and make two pottery pieces! A true cylinder and a flat plate like dish/spoon rest. Milena helped us the entire time while still allowing us the freedom to learn, mess up and start over if needed! Milena was very supportive and a great teacher, assisting us to create fantastic original pieces on our own (with a little help of course) and using all the techniques and tools a true artist would. I am so excited to go pick up my finished pieces in 6-8 weeks and see how they came out and display them at home! This was a great workshop, I can’t wait to take another class and highly recommend this fabulous Brooklyn based studio! Thanks Milena!”
