I enjoyed my experience at the class. There were several positive aspects of my experience. The space where the class was hosted was decorated very adorably, it was very easy to park and locate the space, the email correspondence before the event was helpful. The instructors were kind and patient and I appreciated their assistance with arranging the flowers and the cupcake decorating. I understand this may be a newer business, so I kindly mention a few potential opportunities for growth: 1) The class was set to start at 3 PM and we really didn’t get started until 3:20 PM. Another participant who was outside of the studio, told us that the start time was delayed because of the weather? Which didn’t really make sense because they had really only been rain the day before… No hurricane or extreme weather or anything like that. This would normally be OK but we had to wait outside while they finish setting up. Luckily it was not too hot, but we did take this class at the end of July in the Houston heat. I also thought it may not be the best option for someone who was dropped off or took a ride to the event. The instructors also took another break in between the flowers and cupcakes, which is understandable, but there was no space for the break in the schedule. The event was scheduled to be from 3 to 5 PM. We did not begin the cupcake portion of the class until after 5 PM. We concluded the class at about 6:15 PM. This was a little bothersome because I needed to get home to relieve my babysitter and I was very late for that. I expected a bit more of a level of professionalism and timeliness given the price of the class was $80. I am very happy to take home my beautiful flower arrangement and mug and cupcakes, but I wish there was a little bit more thought put into the schedule. Overall, I thought this was a great business idea and fun experience to do with friends. I think there can be some easy improvements to the opportunities I mentioned by adding in small changes such as adding an extra hour or even two to the beginning or end time of the event. I would recommend doing this with friends, but if you do it in the meantime, definitely account for the extra time that is not listed on the schedule.
