Today's; Sunday Feb 22, 2026; Mug and Saucer Pottery Workshop was as enjoyable and productive as my previous visits to Wilcoxson. Today's moderators were friendly and knowledgable about slip casting. At the beginning of the session a demostration was provided on how to decorate the mold prior to pouring the porcelain clay. They were also very helpful to myself and the other participants. Each walked around the room answering questions about technique, offering advice on how to achieve a desired effect and when any participant was at the stage, each aided in the removal of the particular item; mug, saucer, planter, etc; and how to connect for later immersion in the kiln. A demostration was also provided on how to attach a pre-made handle. I look forward to participating in more of their workshops.

The Mug and Saucer class was very fun. Kevin and LeAnn (excuse me if incorrect spelling), are very nice and knowledgable about the method used to create the mugs and saucers. Kevin begins with a history of working with clay and the various methods, then after that begins his demostration of what we'll be doing. Then we begin. . Kevin and LeAnn then walk around aiding and/or offering adding where and when requested. After each participant is fone with the creative partbof his/her object, Kevin or LeAnn then aid in extracting from mold and shaping and joing. All in all a very fun class and the student will then have a unique mug, planter, vase or dinner set after the clay is fired and glazed. I look forward to visiting again.
