“From start to finish, this weaving class was so fun! The studio was gorgeous. We were surrounded by stunning rugs, which set the perfect mood for a creative experience. Mahmoud, our instructor, was great as well. He shared bits of weaving history while teaching us how to weave, keeping everyone laughing and engaged the whole time.
One of my favorite parts was the freedom to choose my own colors and patterns, so I got creative freedom for my little project. “Wow! This was an awesome experience in every way - what a great class, art form and environment to learn in! The class started out with a visual presentation on an authentic weaving machine along with a history lesson about the art and it pulled us right in. Once you walk into the Creative Minds store you are transported to a different world outside of the streets of Williamsburg. The studio is absolutely beautiful, featuring so many stunning one-of-a-kind creations at every corner from tapestries to rugs, paintings, accent decor and more. They have created a really unique and special workshop in the lower level where the weaving class took place. It was such an authentic environment to be able to learn, listen, create, and have fun in and I really enjoyed the experience overall. The teacher Mahmoud was very fun while being super informative and helpful, he really let us have our creative freedom while teaching us the ways of weaving. He has so many years of experience from so many different cultures and techniques, and his skill level is truly impressive! It is such a great art to witness and learn as well. This is such a great class for anyone who is interested in textiles and using their hands and the best part is we got to create a really beautiful piece that we can hang up at home! Thank you so much for a great class, a wonderful environment and learning a new yet historic art form. Can't wait to take more classes and improve my weaving skills!”

I had the opportunity to make my own mini woven tapestry, which was very exciting. I have never done anything like this before, so there was a learning curve, but I had help when needed and even got advice on how I can make my piece truly unique. There's a massive selection of materials, so the possibilities were endless on what I could have created!”
