“After my adult son asked for a fun activity as a birthday gift this rose as the perfect shared activity! We had all the supplies we needed perfectly accessible and key instruction at the right intervals while allowing independent design (supported by paper patterns). We both enjoyed the process - him with a mathematical approach to pattern and me more organically exploring color and eventually experimenting with not using a pattern for ancillary design. And we’re very pleased with the final product - a perfect birthday gift! But I could imagine date night or team building if I were to come back”
“It was such a fun class!! It was easy to do and great to have all the supplies ready to go. The teacher was friendly and fun to talk with. Very enjoyable!!”
“My family and I recently took this class in San Francisco over the Holidays. The instructor was very nice but the class needs to be adjusted significantly. The class is split into 2 time sections - for the first part you work on your big design, and the next part you work on the beads that fill the lamp. The first design was fine and fun but everyone noticed that the glue wasn’t drying and the design kept sinking on the lamp (gravity). And that’s fine - I wish we got 2 hours to just work on the main designs. Instead, even though the main design wasn’t dry, the instructor asked us to fill in the lamp with the small glass beads. This is where it got pretty messy. The glass beads just kept falling off because they weren’t drying and the original design kept sinking because it wasn’t dry. And while everything was still wet they put on the lamp piece and sent us home with it - telling us not to touch it for 24 hours. How can we possibly drive without touching the lamp for 24 hours? They need to fix this class to either give everyone more time to finish the designs, let them dry, then add the beads, and let them dry (6ish hours - far too long) or focus the class on the main design and then the instructors can add the beads after and let it cure (you have to come by to pick it up in a few days). I’ve done many classes where they leave the item there and let it cure / add the final touches. That would’ve improved our class significantly. As of now, this was a bit of a waste of money for my family as now the lamps have beads falling off and there are huge blank spaces everywhere where beads have fallen off. Effectively, it’s going in the garbage and we can’t really put it up anywhere.”
“We spent an amazing several hours together and walked away with projects we will enjoy using. Ali was a super helpful instructor who balanced being present and available with giving us adequate time to be creative very effectively. I would definitely recommend the activity and will likely do it again if I return to San Francisco.”
“We had an amazing experience! Our teacher Amir was awesome. He was very patient and explained as well as demonstrated each step clearly and with expertise. I would honestly take ANY workshop he teaches. I know with his guidance any project will turn out better than you could hope for. He's a 10 out of 10!”
