Super fun class! Sara was welcoming, extremely helpful and patient, and kept things moving along nicely. There were eight of us in this two-part class and everyone came away with a beautifully crafted, unique cutting board. Thank you, highly recommended!

Sara and all of her household are fantastic, warm and welcoming, supportive and helpful! We all left with a beautiful piece of wood art that we made ourselves and that we can actually use! Now I feel comfortable using some wood tools. I can’t wait to make something else :)

Best class ever! Learned how to use power tools like a table saw in a really low pressure, supportive environment. Built my confidence with tools and now I’m so excited to do more!

Wow!! This is a super awesome class I still can't believe I made this gorgeous cutting board in only a few hours! It looks and feels incredibly luxe, like something you'd find in a boutique, and would make an excellent gift. I've never worked with power tools like this before and am shocked a complete beginner like me can walk away with such a cool piece of woodworking magic! The class is based at Strong Wood Studio in Berkeley overlooking a beautiful garden, and is a really lovely space to spend a couple of afternoons. Street parking was pretty simple to find (the first day I got a spot right in front, and the next day only a block away). The teacher, Sara, is AMAZING. From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt welcomed and excited to learn the materials. Throughout the class, she gave clear and kind instructions, and encouraged questions and breaks during the process. I had no idea there was so much to learn about wood (even that different wood have unique scents when working with them) and you could tell how knowledgeable and passionate about the craft she is when she happily pulled out extra tools and tips to help us understand a skill or answer niche questions. I admit I was a little nervous to work with some of the tools (I'm looking at you router) but Sara had step-by-step processes and advice that made it seamless to follow. I had a good grasp of the directions before handling the tools, appreciated the close supervision while using, and was encouraged to move at my own pace. It was really fun to celebrate each win after completing a task or learning a new technique. This would make a wonderful date with friends or partners, or an epic birthday idea! I will never forget my time there, and I hope to take more classes with Sara in the future

Sara was Awesome! She was enthusiastic and organized. Sara had all the materials prepped, talked about how to use each tool before we tried it and was encouraging every step of the way. In the end we had gorgeous cheese boards to show off to our friends.
