“Overall, we enjoyed the class: the atmosphere, the instructor’s wit, the other guests and picked up a few good cooking tips. Unfortunately, the steak itself was overdone even though we all stated our preference for medium doneness - this was the main event we came for so that was a letdown. The sides were enjoyable as was the dessert. Some tips for future classes: think about incorporating introductions and an icebreaker at the beginning to foster camaraderie amongst the guests. Closely review the reservations and any allergies or intolerances: my partner is lactose intolerant and that was not taken into consideration. Finally, despite the insistence of the instructor of a good mise-en-place, our instructor left the station multiple times to reach for various items, defeating the very definition and function that she’d just emphasized.”
