“It’s was a lot of fun. Our instructor was great, she taught us the basics and helped us when we got stuck. Definitely will be coming back to do another one. I purchased gift cards for my daughter and I for Christmas to do something on her Christmas break. I rate this experience in the shop a 10 out of 10.”
“The instructors available were great. I do wish there’s been more information on how to recover from mistakes or some tips and tricks for keeping the string in the gun. It would’ve helped if they were a bit more present during the tufting process because my husband and I made a lot of mistakes and were a little unsure on how to move forward or pivot at times. The instructors we did ask were so helpful and great. The woman who showed us everything was fantastic. So attentive and really kind. The experience was so fun. I enjoyed every second, even the extreme frustration I felt when my string fell for the 80th time. The other classmates were so kind and respectful. The area was clean and well kept. The location was great and felt safe and accessible. Overall would definitely return and do it again. It would be a 5/5 if they made the few adjustment I mentioned above.”
“Pros:
1) The staff was fantastic—very encouraging and supportive throughout the class.
2) The workspace was inviting, with a great atmosphere to create in.
3) A wonderful selection of yarn colors to choose from!
Cons:
1) The website doesn’t mention that the rug will be finished by the staff and ready for pick-up several days later. As a tourist traveling from miles away to attend this workshop, this was inconvenient and unexpected.
2) There was no upfront information about the additional charges for shipping or expediting the completion process (shaving the rug, etc) within 3 hours.
3) Communication could be improved—final confirmations and details were handled over the phone, which felt a bit unreliable. A centralized system like a Google Doc or a dedicated section on the website would make it easier to access information, including links and any additional charges.
Overall:
The class itself was a lot of fun! However, we felt that sharing key details about the pick-up and shipping process upfront would make the experience smoother. It’s clear from other reviews that these concerns are shared by many customers. A simple update to their website to clarify the process and fees would go a long way in addressing this issue.”
“I enjoyed this class a lot. I have a great teacher and even had other workers check in and give some advice on my piece. I would definitely recommend bringing snack and a refillable water bottles since you will be there for a few hours, but there is no rush! I'm excited to see how my final piece turned out. They will keep your piece until they shave it down and glue it to a solid backing. Overall I can't wait to try another class!”
“This was THE BEST experience! I have taken so many crafty classes before (ceramics, clay figurines, paint and sip etc.), but this is by far my favorite. Tufting as a craft is great for those who are not the most artsy but still want to get their hands worked while doing something that doesn’t involve screens.
Carlos was our instructor, and he was wonderful. He was patient, kind, and super supportive of our vision for the rugs. He made sure we set up the projector correctly, so the outline came out just the way we wanted. When we started using the tools, he taught us multiple techniques and stood there with us as we learned and until we felt confident enough to do it in our own.
The space was nicely lit, not too crowded, and had so many yarn colors! We created rugs that were beyond our hopes and more!! I’ll be back!”
