“Chiaki, our instructor, was very sweet and made sure everything was prepared in time before the event. We hosted it in our office as a corporate team event, and was very communicative with what materials she needed to ship to the building beforehand and drop off the morning of, which I helped coordinate.
I liked the short history lesson before the start of class, as well as learning the basics of Ohara Ikebana style. The instructor brought in beautiful dahlias to work with as well as branches and chrysanthemums, which made for a pretty design. For this corporate workshop which I hosted in my office building, we were able to take home the shallow vases + frogs (from my research this may not be the case if it were hosted in their own workshop, so just be aware of this!) I'm so glad I got to take my ikebana home!”

Our teacher was very thoughtful and made sure to spend time with every student's creation at the end even when it was getting later than 8pm. Her explanations were thorough and detailed, making it easy to follow along even for beginners.
For the hands-on portion, we created a "rising form" floral arrangement, with step-by-step guidance from Asae. She gave individual feedback and answered any questions we had, ensuring that everyone understood the techniques. At the end of the class, we were able to take our flower arrangements home, though the tools and materials were not included (they can be purchased on Amazon).
