“I had a good time, learning how to make sushi. We made all the sushi advertised in the class description. It takes ten seconds to watch the steps involved in making sushi, but it takes a lifetime to master. The devil is in the details. I liken making sushi to making creme brulee. Creme brulee contains just 4 ingredients but is one of the easiest desserts to screw up. Each step requires lots of attention.
Kaz showed us how to make tekka maki. While on the surface, it looks easy to make, it's one of the hardest to master. I can see why. I got a new appreciation for rice, too. I've made rice lots of time in the past for dinner but without much thought to the process. Making sushi rice is a whole other world.”
“This was such an amazing class! Not only did I learn new skills on how to make one of my favorite foods, I also got to eat them all! Kaz is a great instructor, and very knowledgable in making sushi -- it's a bit of art, a bit of science, and you'll leave with knowledge that you can use for your next dinner party!”
