“I came here because I wanted to do something special for my mom for her upcoming birthday, and I know she would totally love having a butterfly stake.
For this particular course, the glass pieces for the butterfly are already cut and smoothened out for you to handle. You play the role of designer and can decorate the butterfly pieces to your heart's content!
Roberta, the instructor (and owner) has decades of experience doing glass fusing, so she has invaluable insights she loves to impart to the students. If you're curious about the process, she is happy to answer any questions about it. Furthermore, she is just an awesome, kind, and brilliant person to talk to.
Even though you are only involved in one of the intermediate steps, you get a good sense of what is required end-to-end.
Note: you will not get your piece back the day of the class, as she runs the kiln to fuse the glass in the late evenings, and she sometimes has several batches, so budget 1-2 weeks for your piece to be fully finished.”
“Actually made a glass bee that is so adorable. It was a brand new experience for me to do anything with glass and learn the process. I’ve always struggled with creating anything artistic so was a little nervous to begin. The teacher was so welcoming and professional she put me at ease immediately. She had all the materials setup and ready to go. She provided excellent directions and presented alternative methods to achieve exactly what I wanted. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend taking any of the classes.”
