As your pool company mentioned, the first cell will always go quicker because more is needed to ramp up the minerals. It's also essential to test the copper level regularly because the settings provided are often too high for the pool, especially in northern areas.
Please check out our blog for ways to extend the cell's life. Again, the most important thing is to test regularly and adjust as needed. If you maintain the copper level between 0.2 ppm and 0.4 ppm and keep the rest of the water chemistry in check, the cell will live an average of 6 months. The cell you show in the picture has a few weeks of life left once the settings are turned down.

When a cell is used up in under two months, we now offer 40% off a new cell as a courtesy. However, it is always the pool owner's responsibility to test copper regularly and adjust as needed.
