“I like the Rancilio Naked Portafilter a lot. After using the original double-spouted handle for nearly 10 years, this one has some immediate advantages. It's a lot lighter, hardly needs any cleaning, and the basket can be popped out with a single tap, without damaging nails or burning fingers. It also came with a 21g Rancilio basket, which I didn't see mentioned in the ad. The spring is a lot stiffer, which means when tapping out the puck (harder with VST baskets due to steeper sides) the basket doesn't drop out. I tried the old thinner spring, but put this one back immediately. Glad the days of horror, cleaning black oily muck with detergent and cotton bud from the double spout, are over! I just have to get used to it sliding around unchecked while grinding, but that's nothing. Naked is as good as it sounds.
BTW, the 20g VST basket DOES work with the original handle, it's just that due to the proximity of the bottom, you have to take the basket out and dry both sides each time. Drying with the Naked one is obviously a breeze.”
