“I've only recently started playing the bassoon & only just received the first of the six deliveries. I knew from the start that I would have to learn to adjust reeds, so I also bought a job lot of much cheaper, less-than-optimum ones! I can confidently state that the C&S reed is much easier to play than those but I'm resisting the temptation to play it to death as I still have a couple of weeks to go before my next delivery. It is however providing a model for me to attempt to emulate when I tinker with the more resistant reeds (I also bought the C&S adjusting kit & would recommend it). My C&S reed is the one I turn to at the end of each practice session so that I can just enjoy playing the instrument, without more struggle than the instrument itself provides. Despite being a bit on the soft side it seems good from the bottom right up to top C (so far...)”
