“The soup is supposed to have some eggs stirred in at the end of the cooking process but the one time I tried it the result was a curdled mess. It was my fault because I had beaten them too much - I was told this after seeking advice from Dinner Ladies help line. The trouble was that was last winter and then, a year later I ordered it again and then couldn't remember what I had done wrong the first time. Senior moment! So, this second time I didn't dare add the eggs. That was a mistake. It certainly needed something more. All too hard for me - sorry!”
Hey Bettina,
Thanks so much for your review but sorry to hear you are finding this one a little difficult regarding the eggs. For this dinner, we do recommend adding 2 whisked egg whites to the warmed soup and stir through. If the eggs are whipped to a point that they are too airy and fluffy it can lead to that curdling you experienced. Without them though we do hope it's still a relatively enjoyable dinner. We'll have a look at this one before it comes back on the menu and see if we can either remove the need for the egg whites or clarify the cooking instructions a bit more to make it an easy dinner, as all Dinner Ladies dinners should be.
Thanks again for your feedback as it's always helpful for us.
“I absolutely love the chicken and sweet corn soup. Simply pour contents into a pot, heat, and serve. It’s as quick and easy as that. Best enjoyed on its own or with bread or as a side dish to accompany your meal.”
